1. Warm Compress

Warm compress for colicThis remedy works wonders! It is definitely one of the most effective remedies been practiced since ages. I, personally used to do it when my baby would start crying for no apparent reason.

All you need is a soft cloth, any scarf or towel will work too. Switch the iron on. Then iron the folded cloth or towel on both sides. Now place the warm cloth on baby’s tummy and gently press it. Please note that the cloth should not be too hot because baby’s delicate skin might get hurt. Repeat the process 6-7 times. You will see visible changes in baby’s crying and your baby will be in peace as well.

2. Hold Your Baby Upright

Hold your baby upright for colicThis is a second useful tip for colicky babies. This remedy is also a tried and tested one and helps calm down he baby effectively.

Hold your baby upright when feeding to prevent him swallowing air. As wind trapped in their digestive system makes them colicky. So wind your baby often, especially after a feed by holding him in an upright position. And patting him gently at his back. This will make him pass any wind trapped in his digestive tract and he make him calm as well.

3. Lay Him Across Your Lap

Lay your baby across the lapOne of the oldest remedies is to lay your baby across your lap.

First sit down somewhere where you are comfortable. Then lay your baby on your lap. And start rubbing his back gently. You can’t do this remedy on a new born baby.  Minimum age for this remedy is at least six weeks. This will make your baby’s tummy all cleared up and he will be fine after some time.
