From medicine to skin toner, rose water has unlimited health benefits, among which few are as follows..

  • Reduces swelling 

The anti-inflammatory properties of rose water helps reduce swelling and redness of skin. Just spray some fresh rose water on the swollen area to reduce inflammation.  

  • Acts as a moisturizer

After washing your face, just spray some rose water on your face and make it absorb completely on your skin. It works best if done at night before going to bed.

  • Heals wounds and cuts

Due to its anti-bacterial properties, rosewater is effective in healing wounds and cuts. Just dab a cotton ball in rose water and apply it directly on wounds and cuts.

  • Removes scars

Rose water is a powerful anti-oxidant which helps to strengthen the skin cells and regenerate the dead skin cells and tissues.

  • Excellent for dark eye circles

Take a cotton pad and soak it in rose water. Put the soaked cotton pads on eyes and let it sit for at least 20 minutes. This will not only reduce dark circles under eyes, but also reduce puffiness.

Rose water helps control excessive oil and maintains skin pH level too.

Mix equal parts of glycerin and rose water and apply on the roots of your hair and to the scalp. Massage for some time and leave it for around 30 to 40 minutes. Now wash off with shampoo.

After washing your hair with shampoo, use a cup of rose water as a final rinse. This will add shine to your hair leaving it soft and smooth.

Mix one table spoon of rose water and one table spoon of lemon juice. Take a cotton pad and apply on your acne. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Now wash off with cool water and pat dry. This will absorb excess oil from the skin and helps prevent acne. 

Make Your Own Rose Water Toner at Home

Making your own rose water toner is not a big deal! Here, I will explain you the easiest way to make your own rose water at home. 

Directions to make your own rosewater at home

  • Take around 10-12 roses, wash them and clean them thoroughly. Now take a saucepan and pour some distilled water in it. Now add the rose petals in the water and allow it to boil on a medium heat. You will notice the petals will start floating. So put the lid on the saucepan and put on a low flame to allow it to simmer. Continue cooking it for another 45-50 minutes at least. Now allow it to cool down a little bit. And then strain the water from petals. Your rosewater is ready.
  • Now in order to make toner of this rosewater, add 1/4 cup of witch hazel in the rose water and store it in a jar or a normal spray bottle. Before going to bed at night you can either spray the rosewater toner on your face and neck or can just take a cotton ball and wipe your face with it.
