Heartburn is a condition which arises when acid in the stomach arises and comes up to the esophagus and causes the burning pain. This causes an unpleasant taste in the back of the mouth. Most people can not sleep at night because lying can worsen the pain. It is a very common problem and one in ten people experience this everyday but pregnant women are more vulnerable to heartburn.

1. Cold Milk 

Cold milk for heartburnThis is one of the best one remedies for treating heartburn at home. And also the safest and cheapest method to get rid of it. This remedy is especially recommended by the midwives during pregnancy.


Take half a glass of cold milk and mix one teaspoon of honey (optional) in it. Have it at night or when you are experiencing heartburn. It is also recommended to mix half glass of chilled water in half glass of cold milk to get rid of heartburn. Continue doing the remedy until heartburn is completely cured.


2. Peppermint tea

Take a pan and boil one cup of water. Once the water is boiled, add 7-8 peppermint leaves in the water. Simmer for 2 minutes. Turn off the flame and pour it out in a cup through a sieve to separate the leaves from the tea. Allow it to cool down. Once cooled, drink the tea slowly sip by sip. Drink it in regular intervals until you feel better.


3. Almonds

4. Ginger Tea

5. Banana

Whenever you feel the burning sensation in your throat and chest, or your mouth tastes sour, take a ripen banana and eat it. It will get better. But if you still are complaining heartburn, have another banana after sometime. You can have up to two banana a day to cure heartburn.
