Causes Of Hair loss

Ranging from simple to complex, there can be multiple causes that can contribute towards the falling of hair. Here are some of the major and unnoticeable reasons of hairfall that are easily neglected and become a source of tension for us.

  • Anaemia

Anaemia occurs when there is insufficient intake of iron in your diet. Most of the women become anaemic during menstruation due to heavy bleeding or insufficient folic acid in their body. Less amount of folic acid means low haemoglobin. Low haemoglobin means low oxygen supply to your body parts. Less oxygen makes hair follicles weak and they tend to break very easily.

  • Medications

Too much medication can lead to excessive hair loss. Study says that women who are on birth control pills are more vulnerable to hair fall than those who are not on any medication.

  • Crash Dieting

Loosing too much weight suddenly can have adverse affect on the growth of your hair. This happens because dieting deprives your body from some of the essential nutrients which are important for hair growth and overall health of your hair.

  • Stress

Stress acts like a termite in human body. Hair loss due to stress can occur at any time due to any reason. Both emotional and physical stress can result in hair loss. You should take steps to reduce stress, like going out on holidays more frequently or by doing whatever makes you happy. Take out time for yourself for a stress-free and contented life :).

  • Protein Deficiency

Our hair is made up of a protein known as keratin. Insufficient intake of protein in our diet results in low protein level in or body which makes the hair follicles weak and hair strands thin. As a result our hair start falling prematurely.

  • Bad Hair Habits

Using too much hair styling tools like straighteners or curling irons damages the outer most layer of the hair. This makes the hair too thin and easily breakable. Harsh brushing or combing can also make hair rough and may break the hair easily. Men who use hair styling gels, wax, mousse also tend to have less healthy hair than those who do not use such things. Sometimes excessive coloring can also lead to hair loss. So better to avoid them if you can.
